Qualifying shouldn’t take a year of flights and leave
- Some trainings spread their modules over 8–12 months, so you book leave and travel again and again.
- A certificate that few people recognise can limit where you are able to teach.
- In large groups, hands-on correction is hard to come by, so you learn the repertoire but not how to teach a real body.
- It isn’t always clear what you will be qualified to teach when you finish: Mat, Reformer, group or private.

Before you book your flights
Do I need Pilates teaching experience to join?
No. You need 25 hours of private or group Pilates classes as a participant, plus basic anatomy knowledge or an anatomy course. Teaching experience is not a requirement.
How much time do the online modules take?
13 hours in total across Gateway Pilates Online (3 hours) and PP Online. Both are self-paced. Gateway Pilates Online must be finished before your first studio module and PP Online before the Intermediate modules, so we recommend completing them before you arrive.
Am I qualified the moment the course ends?
Coursework is completed before you qualify. You are qualified once you pass the Polestar Mat and/or Reformer exam, which also involves self-mastery and observation hours and apprentice teaching hours. Polestar encourages students to sit the exam 6–8 months after the final module. Sitting it later, up to a year after, may involve an extra fee to keep your online access.
Can I do just Mat now and Reformer later?
Yes. Mat and Reformer are separate qualifications, so you can take one first and the other at a later Polestar course. Discounts for a second or third Polestar course may be available; ask us for details.
Is accommodation or a visa included?
No. Travel, visa and accommodation are not part of the course and are arranged by you. Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll suggest places to stay near the studio.
What if I need to cancel?
Deposits, transfers and cancellations follow Polestar Pilates Asia’s terms & conditions, plus any host-specific terms. Please confirm the details before you pay.
Is the qualification recognised outside Indonesia?
It is awarded by Polestar Pilates Education, an international school with training in more than 40 countries, and you join its global network of teachers. Employer requirements differ from country to country, so check with any studio you plan to work for.
